LITTLE GIRLS FIRST WORKOUT

I returned from Ohio and my family was out and about walking around downtown Chicago.  I fixed myself a quick dinner and decided that I could use another 90 minute workout. I had already worked out 90 minutes earlier yesterday morning on the elliptical machine at the Days Inn where I was staying in Akron, Ohio. While I was using the buildings elliptical machine my family came upstairs to say hello when they returned from their walk. My daughter decided to exercise with me. She went downstairs to put on appropriate clothing and she spent 57 minutes on the treadmill. She spent some time at a 15 degree incline, she spent some time jogging, she spent some time walking slow and she spent some time walking real fast. When her session was over she had burned 400 calories. Afterwards, I asked her to sample the elliptical machine. What great fun it was to exercise with my daughter. Very nice.

My Saturday weight this morning was 229.1 lbs. Was this because I had a late night snack of crackers and brie cheese while watching the latest Pee-Wee Herman movie, Pee-Wee's Big Holiday (2016), on netflix with my family last night?  What kind of 58 year old man still watches Pee-Wee Herman?  I guess someone like me because there are parts of the movie which I did think were funny. After watching this recent movie on netflix, we watched the first 15 minutes of the 'classic' movie, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure from 1985. ..

Saved for posterity...the stats from a first true exercise session on the treadmill by a 14 year old girl.  Please understand my daughter gets plenty of exercise, she has been on a swimming and water polo team since last summer.  She is very active. This was her first experience on the relatively sterile environment of a fitness room.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA

Today, March 2nd, is the 13th birthday of my daughter.  Seven years ago, the first time that I dropped my weight from 300 lbs down to 220 lbs - I was a thin, fit dad.  As I have written before,  I gained all that weight back and added nine more pounds for good luck.  My daughter had no memory of me not being a big blob.  I am very happy that that is changing now.  Over the weekend, my wife, hosted a birthday party in our home for six of Sara's closest friends. The girls sat around a table and spent a couple of hours making jewelry crafts, doing whatever girls do behind closed doors in Sara's room, they had pizza and two birthday cakes and cookies. I spent part of the afternoon exercising, and of course I had none of the pizza, cake or cookies. For me, it was a very successful party - I believe the girls all had a great time as well.

RALPH LAUREN SAYS THAT I AM BIG

A few weeks ago as I was continuing to pack on the pounds, it became necessary to search for new clothes yet again. My blue jeans did not fit, the black trousers that I had purchased before summer were no longer comfortable. My final purchase of jeans on the way up to 309 lbs was two pair of WRANGLERS 50" WAIST, 32" LENGTH RELAXED FIT. When I bought those Wranglers in Mid-November they fit, however by the end of December they were becoming tight and uncomfortable.   Fast forward to today, January 3, 2014. I am able to wear my RALPH LAUREN trousers again.   The size of these trousers is somewhat ironic. I feel thin (thinner) wearing them. They look much better than the 50/32 relaxed fit Wranglers. The size of the Ralph Lauren Trousers: BIG. You would have to search for a smaller tag near the zipper to discover that these are a 48" waist. (48B/32 - Mr. Lauren thinks that without the 'B' people won't know that they are big?) I have successfully reduced my size so that I am BIG. If I am BIG now, what size was I two weeks ago?  (BIGGER?) The irony is that I am pleased to be wearing these trousers, as I know that they may be BIG, they are still smaller than what I was wearing went I went to see my doctor for a 'wellness' checkup way, way back on December 24, 2014.
