TOUGH BREAK, LEFTIES...

The lefties, liberals, Democrats and confused Republicans were disappointed to learn yesterday that the President of the United States is not suffering from dementia. Trump has something far rarer: guts, nerves of steel, balls or cojones. He simply does not care what the hateful press and TV 'comics' think about him. Trump's support comes from real Americans. Tough Break, lefties... my president, in fact, your president is not suffering from dementia. I know that you are disappointed. May I suggest you find your safe space, grab your Play-doh and pet a llama until you can feel better.

White House physician Ronny Jackson told reporters that he hadn't planned to perform a cognitive assessment of Trump, but the president specifically asked him to in order to put rumors to rest about his mental health

Trump has NO dementia: White House doctor says president had a perfect 30/30 score on cognitive screening test that Trump REQUESTED

  • White House has been beset with claims that the president is mentally impaired
  • Charges were leveled in 'Fire and Fury' book by author who says most of Trump's close aides fear he's not mentally capable to be president
  • Navy doctor Ronny Jackson examined Trump on Friday and added a cognitive screening test to the regimen because the president asked him to
  • Trump scored perfect 30 out of 30 on the test, ruling out Alzheimer's Disease or other cognitive impairment
  • Jackson said this was the first time a sitting president has been given such a cognitive examination

President Donald Trump's recent medical examination showed no indication of cognitive impairment or dementia, according to the physician who conducted and supervised it.
His White House physician, U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson, added what he called 'a screening assessment for cognitive impairment' to Trump's annual health assessment. It resulted in a perfect score.
Based on his daily observations of the president, Jackson said, a mental screening would not normally be recommended.
But Trump himself asked for the test, he told reporters Tuesday at the White House.

'I had absolutely no concerns about his cognitive ability or his – you know, his neurological function. So I was not going to do a cognitive exam. I had no intention of doing one,' Jackson recalled.
'The reason that we did the cognitive assessment is, plain and simple, because the president asked me to do it.'
'He came to me and he said, "Is there something we can do, a test or some type of screening that we can do, to assess my cognitive ability?" And so I looked into it,' Jackson said.
Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a standard test that helps primary care physicians spot early-onset Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia.
Jackson said the test is 'sensitive enough' to identify any potential problems.

INGUINAL HERNIA

Yesterday, I visited my doctor. My diagnosis was correct. I have a hernia. Specifically an inguinal hernia.

An 'overview' from WebMd.com

An inguinal hernia (say "IN-gwuh-nul HER-nee-uh") occurs when tissue pushes through a weak spot in your groin muscle. This causes a bulge in the groin or scrotum. The bulge may hurt or burn. Most inguinal hernias happen because an opening in the muscle wall does not close as it should before birth. That leaves a weak area in the belly muscle. Pressure on that area can cause tissue to push through and bulge out. A hernia can occur soon after birth or much later in life. You are more likely to get a hernia if you are overweight or you do a lot of lifting, coughing, or straining. Hernias are more common in men.
The main symptom of an inguinal hernia is a bulge in the groin or scrotum. It often feels like a round lump. The bulge may form over a period of weeks or months. Or it may appear all of a sudden after you have been lifting heavy weights, coughing, bending, straining, or laughing. The hernia may be painful, but some hernias cause a bulge without pain.
A hernia also may cause swelling and a feeling of heaviness, tugging, or burning in the area of the hernia. These symptoms may get better when you lie down. Sudden pain, nausea, and vomiting are signs that a part of your intestine may have become trapped in the hernia. Call your doctor if you have a hernia and have these symptoms. A doctor can usually know if you have a hernia based on your symptoms and a physical exam. The bulge is usually easy to feel.
If you have a hernia, it will not heal on its own. Surgery is the only way to treat a hernia. If your hernia does not bother you, you most likely can wait to have surgery. Your hernia may get worse, but it may not. In some cases, hernias that are small and painless may never need to be repaired.
Most people with hernias have surgery to repair them, even if they do not have symptoms. This is because many doctors believe surgery is less dangerous than strangulation, a serious problem that occurs when part of your intestine gets trapped inside the hernia.
But you may not need surgery right away. If the hernia is small and painless and you can push it back into your belly, you may be able to wait.
A hernia may come back after surgery. To reduce the chance that this will happen, stay at a healthy weight. Do not smoke, avoid heavy lifting, and try not to push hard when you have a bowel movement or pass urine.

Inguinal Hernia - What Increases Your Risk

Many things can increase your risk for having an inguinal hernia.
Risk factors you can change
  • Having weak abdominal muscles from poor diet, lack of exercise, or both
Risk factors you cannot change
  • Being male
  • Having muscle weakness from aging
  • Having one or more inguinal hernias
.

It appears that surgery is in my future. At this time, my doctor has described it as elective surgery. I will elect to proceed. I just need to decide on the election day.

JIMMY JOHN'S

Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches
I travel a lot for my job.  It is common for me to be away from home Monday thru Friday.   I am always on the lookout for places to eat that will offer some nutritious and tasty food that will not bust my calorie budget.  On Wednesday evening, my friend, Jack told me about another good option, Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwich shops.   This is another chain that is all over the United States.   All of their sandwiches can be ordered as an UNWICH (which is their name for a sandwich wrapped in lettuce - no bread)   Once I learned about this option I was eager to try one.   Yesterday for lunch, between two appointments, I found a Jimmy Johns and ordered my first UNWICH.   It was delicious. I have now learned that if I had ordered it with 'light' mayonnaise I could have saved even more calories.   Even so, the TURKEY TOM UNWICH that I did order had only had 230 CALORIES.   It is great to know that there is another nutritious and tasty lunch/dinner option available to me.   Thank you, Jack.

I often write my blog posts either a couple of days before or the night before.  I tweak them right before I 'publish' them to the internet in the early morning.   I am publishing this post early on Friday morning.   In about 3 hours I have my first follow-up appointment with my Doctor.   The last time I visited my doctor, on December 24, for my 'wellness' checkup I was not well.  I had not exercised in a number of years and my weight was 309 lbs.  I did not look well, I did not feel well and I was not well.    Fast forward,  58 days later and I have shed at least 50 lbs.   I exercise every day.  My stamina continues to increase.   I look in the mirror and I see someone who looks well and feels well.  My BMI still indicates that I am obese.  That may be true.  In fact, it is true.  Nevertheless, I am 'weller' than I was 58 days ago! (I am aware that 'weller' is not an actual word.)

I have a few questions for my doctor this morning:
How long can I continue to consume 1000 calories per day, without causing any harm to myself?
If I cannot medically limit myself to 1000 calories, what should be my calorie per day goal?
I have a question regarding the vitamin D supplement I am taking.  Is 1000 IU enough?
I would like his opinion on what my ultimate target weight should be.
I know that it is important to hydrate oneself with water.  I drink zero calorie sparkling flavored water during the day.  Is this an acceptable substitute for water?  (It is my biggest remaining dietary vice)
I would like to know how necessary it is to have my blood work done again to check my glycogen.
Whatever my blood pressure is today, will it continue to dramatically improve as I shed weight?

My next post will be Saturday morning.   That is the day that I weigh myself.   I will also be reporting on my visit with the doctor.   See you tomorrow!
