ASPIRATIONAL COMMENT

CHICAGO -- In his first public appearance since leaving the White House in January, President Barack Obama told young leaders here Monday that "special interests dominate the debates in Washington" and that he had failed to realize his "aspirational" goal of uniting Americans in red and blue states.
"That was an aspirational comment," the former president said of his famous 2004 Democratic National Convention speech, prompting laughter from the audience at the University of Chicago. He added that when talking to individual Americans from different political backgrounds, you learn that "there’s a lot more that people have in common" than it would appear. "But, obviously, it’s not true when it comes to our politics and our civic life."

back in 2013, our former President was telling us that how he had prevented Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Obama Says Deal Is 'Best Means' For Preventing Iranian Nuclear Weapons

Back when Obama was defending the deal with Iran that he said would prevent Iran from continuing to develop nuclear weapons - most people with a functioning brain realized that this 'deal' was no deal at all and virtually assured that Iran would simply continue their nuclear weapons program. At the time, I thought that Obama was simply lying. NOW I KNOW DIFFERENTLY.  It was simply an 'aspirational' comment. Obama had a strong desire to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. He never meant that that had been actually accomplished. Ok, I am glad that this has been cleared up.

MOST PERSPICACIOUS COMMENT, EVER

Yesterday, in my blog I was talking about the lack of wisdom in exercising every day without a break.  In fact, I had recently snapped a streak where I had walked 10 miles minimum for 25 days in a row.  This is precisely what I wrote yesterday:
My mild injury, really only a tightness in my right leg seems to have gotten much better after two days of rest.  As much as I take great pride in exercising almost every day - I also know intellectually that that is not the smartest thing to do. My addictive personality sometimes gets in the way of a more balanced program.  Perhaps, going forward I should start a new streak - this streak should be the number of consecutive weeks where I am sure to rest at least one day.  As of now, I did not exercise at all on Saturday or Sunday.  I am not sure yet, what today, Monday has in store for me...
I have some loyal readers of this blog, my wife, my Mom, my brothers.... But without a doubt, my friend Jack is the most loyal reader.  I seriously do not think he has missed a day.  He is also a fairly common commenter.  His comment yesterday was the most perspicacious comment, ever.

Consecutive weeks with at least one day of rest. Didn't you do 10 years of that!
.
Of course, my friend, Jack is exactly right.  I did have about 10 years of weeks with at least one day of rest.  In fact, I had 10 years of weeks with 7 days of rest!   So, I suppose that I should be shooting for is consecutive weeks with 5 or 6 days of exercise.  That is plenty of exercise.  And it should be appropriate for rest.  That is the goal.  We will see where this leads.  Right now, I am feeling a bit under the weather... so it might be a day or two before I strap on my backpack and take a walk.
