WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS NEED TO BE LIFTED - SOON

Today I visited a customer in Wisconsin. This customer reviewed my entire button line, my entire trim line and my entire Japanese fabric line. Normally, my lines would have been three heavy suitcases. I am currently under doctors orders to refrain from lifting more than 15 pounds. Some of my suitcases when full weigh 75 pounds or more. I have removed all the suitcases from my car and put my lines in multiple canvas tote bags. I made nearly 10 trips in and out of the store to bring in my lines and made the same number of trips to get my lines back out to the car again. Although the staff at the store offered to assist me - I just figured I would be accumulating steps on my fitbit. Later today, Friday, I visit my surgeon again. The last time I saw him, two weeks ago, I was lying in an operating room staring at bright lights overhead. I am hopeful that he will determine that I have healed according to schedule. I really need to be allowed to lift more than 15 pounds - soon.

I desperately need my spring weight restrictions lifted!

SURGERY SURVIVOR

Well it appears that I will have to pay for my surgery.  I survived.  Would it not be an improvement in the field of medicine if in the rare cases when the patient dies on the operating table, that at least one would not have to pay for the surgery? I think that Dr. Nick Riviera from the Simpsons has the right attitude regarding this.  Anyway, as I mentioned I did survive. So...I am grateful that I will have to pay for the surgical repair done early this morning.

A revolutionary idea in the field of medicine proposed by the writers of The Simpsons.
.
My wife, Jennifer, drove us to the clinic and we left promptly at 5:30AM.  We arrived at the clinic just a few minutes before 6:00AM. It was a re-assuring feeling that the people at the clinic were expecting me.  I do usually get annoyed when I try to check into a hotel and they can't find my reservation - that was not the issue yesterday.  I was almost immediately prepped for surgery.  My surgeon arrived precisely on time at 6:55AM.  I was wheeled into the operating room at 7:04AM.  Including my surgeon there were five people in the room aside from me. Everyone was busy doing something. The last thing I remember was being given oxygen which either had a sweet smell (or I imagined it).  The next thing I remember, I was awake back in first room and my wife was there asking how I was feeling. I was given some juice and cookies. (animal crackers).  My last function before I was released was that I had to prove that I could successfully urinate. By 930AM we were on on our way back home. Once I returned home, I think I was half sleeping and half awake for about 4 hours. One thing that I can report, is that although no pain has yet to establish itself - I am not finding it easy to move. My hope is that the recovery curve will look something like the global warming hockey sticks graph that Al Gore is so fond of when he is irrationally screaming that planet earth is doomed due to radical increases of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in a short period of time. In my case, I am hopeful that my abilities to move about will increase at very fast levels as a function of time. I guess I am about to find out.

AMAZINGLY USELESS FACT:
Today the  MARC JACOBS WEIGHT LOSS JOURNAL is publishing its 500th post. I am certain that at least a dozen of them have been interesting.  Perhaps if I was being charitable to myself, perhaps even two dozen. I try to be at least a little bit interesting every day. At least I try to try.

PLACEBO EFFECT

I am currently the beneficiary of the placebo effect as regarding my discomfort due to my inguinal hernia. During my visit with my doctor, did actually indicate that the pain would soon dissipate over the next week or two - and I believe that that is the case. The hernia will never repair itself, the problem remains until it is addressed, but it is at least a bit comforting to know that it should stop hurting. Knowing that the pain should decrease helped make the pain decrease. I have made an appointment to see a doctor who can do the surgery for me. My appointment is scheduled for Friday April 22. From the moment that I took action and made this appointment, I think I started feeling a bit better. I am attributing this to a placebo effect. Simply the belief that I will soon address my problem quickly made the problem seem less significant. It matters not why I am feeling less pain, I am simply grateful that I am. I am still unwilling to do much physical exercise until I know that there is little chance of aggravating this injury. On Monday, I expect to be walking around the Mall of America for a good number of hours. I am hopeful that this will present no problems that I cannot handle.

.
It has now been more than two weeks since I have burned an extra calorie over and above simply respiration.  (breathing)  My weight is currently 233.5.  It is not good. It sure could be worse. My prediction is that it will be better in the future.  Even after all this, down 75 pounds from where I started. I just can't let any more success slip away.
