THEY ARE PATHETIC, I AM NOT SYMPATHETIC

Apparently even ABC News President, James Goldston realizes that their recent FAKE NEWS report from Brian Ross was a bit too much. Once his suspension is over, Brian Ross will be forbidden from reporting on anything to do with Donald Trump. I guess we can look forward to seeing this dolt reporting his fake news stories from important events like Groundhog Day. If this guy reported that the groundhog saw his shadow, I would conclude that the groundhog probably hadn't.

The Brian Ross report about Michael Flynn went above and beyond the call of lefty duty. The heartbreak from the lefties all across America was very sad. Imagine this unthinkable scenario: An announcement is made in front of a live worldwide audience that you have won the Oscar for Best Picture and experienced the elation of this great achievement - only to have it immediately plucked away. Oh wait, that actually happened earlier this year. That error only disappointed the small number of people involved with the production of La La Land. The fake news report from Brian Ross disappointed and caused heartbreak in millions of lefties all across the United States. It's been a tough week for the lefties. They are pathetic, I am not sympathetic.

ABC News president excoriates staff over

Brian Ross' Michael Flynn error

ABC News president James Goldston excoriated staff Monday over Brian Ross' major error on a report about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and announced that Ross, the network's chief investigative reporter, will no longer cover stories related to President Trump.
Goldston also told staffers that the network was conducting a "full review" of the error and its aftermath.
Ross had initially reported Friday morning that Flynn was prepared to testify that Donald Trump as a candidate had instructed him to reach out to the Russians. Ross said more than seven hours later on "World News Tonight" that his information was actually that Flynn was prepared to testify Trump made the request as president-elect. On Saturday evening, ABC News said Ross had been suspended for four weeks without pay for what it termed the "serious error."
During ABC News' morning editorial call Monday, audio of which was obtained by CNN, Goldston excoriated his staff for the error.
"I don't think ever in my career have I felt more rage and disappointment and frustration that I felt through this weekend and through the last half of Friday," Goldston said.
"I don't even know how many times we've talked about this, how many times we have talked about the need to get it right," he added. "That how we have to be right and not first. About how in this particular moment, with the stakes as high as these stakes are right now, we cannot afford to get it wrong."
CNN provided the quotes from the recording included in this article to an ABC News spokesperson, who did not deny that they were authentic. The spokesperson declined to comment beyond Goldston's remarks.
Goldston noted that ABC News "spent this weekend getting absolutely pilloried as a news division for reporting fake news."
"250,000 tweets. One percent positive, 99 percent negative about this news division. Two tweets from the president," he told staff.
Goldston also said, "If it isn't obvious to everyone in this news division, we have taken a huge hit and we have made the job of every single person in this news division harder as a result. It's much, much harder. We have people in Washington who are going to bear the brunt of this today and in the days forward. Very, very, very, very unfortunate. Really, really angry about it."
The ABC News chief said that Ross reported information that was "just plain wrong," and did so without anyone "having ever made a decision that we were going to go to air with that information."
"We just went on air with that information," he said. "We hadn't approved doing that. And the thing that just kills me about this is all we had to do was wait. We had to wait a few minutes. A few minutes after that, the charging documents came out. We know that those charging documents had come out, and we had looked to those charging documents, and the charging documents didn't match what we thought the story was. We would have not gone with that story."
Goldston expressed additional frustration at the fact that it took more than seven hours for ABC News to clarify the story on ABC's "World News Tonight." Later, Friday evening, the network issued a full blown correction in a written statement.
"The thing that compounded our mistake is that not only did we make a mistake, if we had then corrected ourselves right away, again -- we wouldn't be in this position. It would have been a very different story," he said. "But we ended up in the impossible situation where we had actually conflicting information that we said on air, which conflicted with the information that was online. And then it took us seven hours, eight hours to get our story straight. This is not acceptable. It's not acceptable. And we will all pay the price for a long time."
Multiple ABC News employees, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to publicly discuss the issue, told CNN there is widespread discussion about Ross' credibility moving forward.
"No one wants to work with him," said one ABC News employee.
"The future doesn't seem bright for him," added another.
ABC News employees have also told CNN that there is great internal embarrassment over the blunder.
"It's a major embarrassment," one ABC News employee said.
"It makes me cringe," echoed another. "This is not what any networks needs when people are so quick to say 'fake news' to you. It makes me sick to my stomach."
Goldston himself also said during the call that Ross' credibility, and ABC News', had been damaged.
Goldston has been the president of ABC News for the past three and a half years. A native of Britain, he was a producer at the BBC and executive producer of ITV programs before joining ABC in 2004.
His anger on the morning call reflected a weekend's worth of criticism of the news division, which is owned by The Walt Disney Company.
On Sunday's "Reliable Sources" on CNN, political analyst Jeff Greenfield said ABC had made a very "consequential" error, especially given the current political climate.
"This is exactly what Trump and his allies want to say: 'No matter what you hear on mainstream media, it's fake. They're doing it to hurt us.' And this is like handing a sword to the people who want all media to be looked at in that regard," Greenfield said.
On Saturday night, Trump tweeted his "congratulations" to ABC for suspending Ross. The next morning, he ramped up his language, tweeting that "people who lost money when the stock market went down 350 points" after Ross' reporting "should consider hiring a lawyer and suing ABC."

Not all of Friday morning's losses were attributable to the ABC report, and by the closing bell, the market had mostly recovered..

THERE IS NO JOY IN MUDVILLE

Have you ever seen anyone in the media so happy reporting a story damaging to a sitting president and to the United States of America? When Joy Behar read the (fake) news story released by Brian Ross of ABC, she was positively giddy with joy and so was her moronic studio audience which erupted in cheers. She announced that 'Christmas had come early.'

Sorry Joy, Santa giveth, and Santa taketh away.

Never mind, that the story, if true, might indeed have been explosive. Certainly, stock traders thought so, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average immediately dropped 350 points. One snag crept through, the story was completely false. The (fake) story as initially reported claimed that General Flynn had agreed to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller and testify that presidential candidate Donald Trump had ordered him to contact the Russians. There it was. the glorious smoking gun. The proof that the ridiculous story told and re-told by every moron in America was true. One minor change to the story, deflated the importance of the story. What General Flynn did agree to do was cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller and testify that president-elect Donald Trump had ordered him to contact the Russians. You see the conundrum here, yes? It is nearly impossible to collude with The Russians to get oneself elected AFTER the election. Sorry, Joy Behar, you lefty loon, you hateful despicable, might I say, deplorable dolt. Christmas did not come come early. Although one might argue that purveyors of truth might have gotten an early Christmas gift, as disgraceful Brain Ross has been suspended without pay for four weeks. Yep, there is no joy in mudville, mighty Brian Ross has struck out.

Enjoy this photo of Brian Ross, as you won't be seeing him on TV for the next month. Apparently fake news isn't quite as acceptable these days as it used to be. After all, when a fake news story is reported, we have a president who has the guts to point it out in an immediate tweet.

It was really kinda sad to see all those happy people all across our great nation enjoying one of the most happiest days of their lives - only to have that joy swept away once it was evident that their joy was emanating from yet another fake news story.

I have never shaved my head. Even this look, represents my trip to the barber where I requested my 'hair' be cut to the length of 1/2 mm. I suppose this would be what a shaved head would look like soon after a shaving ones head. Basically, it's five o'clock shadow on ones scalp.

ABC News suspends Brian Ross for 4 weeks over erroneous Flynn story
.

ABC News announced Saturday that it has suspended investigative reporter Brian Ross for four weeks without pay after Ross was forced to correct a bombshell on-air report about Michael Flynn.
"We deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday. The reporting conveyed by Brian Ross during the special report had not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process," ABC said in a statement. "As a result of our continued reporting over the next several hours ultimately we determined the information was wrong and we corrected the mistake on air and online." "It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience -- these are our core principles," the statement added. "We fell far short of that yesterday." Citing a single anonymous source, Ross told viewers during an ABC special report on Friday morning that Flynn was prepared to testify that Donald Trump, as a candidate for president, told him to contact Russians. During Friday's edition of "World News Tonight," Ross walked back his report, telling viewers that the source who had provided the initial information for his story later told him that it was as president-elect, not as a candidate, that Trump asked Flynn to contact Russians..
An ABC News tweet about the report was retweeted about 25,000 times before being deleted. Ross' incorrect report prompted a dramatic reaction in the financial markets, and the Dow fell more than 350 points. Stocks largely recovered later in the day. CNN had initially reached out to ABC News early Friday afternoon to ask why Ross' initial reporting was not included in the network's online story about Flynn pleading guilty for lying to the FBI. Hours later, a spokesperson told CNN a correction was forthcoming. But ABC News initially attempted to downplay the mistake, referring to its correction as a "clarification" on "World News Tonight" and then online. After a barrage of criticism, the network changed the language online from "clarification" to "correction." Saturday evening's statement further ramped up the language; the network now calls it a "serious error." Ross commented later Saturday night. "My job is to hold people accountable and that's why I agree with being held accountable myself," he tweeted.Shortly after that, President Trump weighed in, tweeting his "congratulations" to ABC News for suspending Ross. Multiple ABC News employees, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they weren't publicly authorized to discuss the matter, told CNNMoney on Saturday there was internal embarrassment over the blunder. "It's a major embarrassment," one ABC News employee said. "It makes me cringe," echoed another. "This is not what any networks needs when people are so quick to say 'fake news' to you. It makes me sick to my stomach." This is not the first high-profile mistake by Ross. In a 2012 piece for which he apologized, he suggested that the Aurora shooter may have had a connection to the Tea Party.

Hey Joy, That Donald Trump guy is a real oaf ain't he? Oh wait, sorry, that  isn't Donald Trump, that's the Honorable Senator Al Franken who you would surely vote for President if you had the opportunity.

MARC MEETS MISS KENTUCKY

Very often I title my daily blog with the name of the park or trail that I hiked the day before. I did find a new trail yesterday. I arrived at the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary only 90 minutes prior to closing time - but still had enough time (and sunlight) to squeeze in a six mile hike. So why did I get to the park so late? Turns out, I was with a terrific customer in Lexington, Kentucky.  I was visiting the Stitch Niche practically all afternoon, and the button order that was placed deserved all that time. During the course of the afternoon, I learned that the niece of my customer was the current Miss Kentucky. Now I admit that I thought that was kinda cool. It wasn't long after that, that Laura Jones, aka Miss Kentucky paid a visit to the store. We discussed diet and exercise. This remarkable young woman has battled a very different eating disorder than the one that I battle each day.  She has conquered her problem with bulimia and has made it her platform as Miss Kentucky.  Her difficulties with bulimia are long in the past. Laura said that she eats more than ever, and is in the best shape of her life.  She even recommended a low calorie, high protein ice cream product from Ben & Jerry's that I am sure to be trying soon - Halo Top. I showed her photos of myself when I was 309 pounds. I do not eat more than ever, although I eat better than ever, and like this young woman, I am also in the best shape of my life - and that's not typically so easy to do at the age of 59 - but it is true. I will be rooting for this young woman as she competes in the Miss America Pageant taking place in Atlantic City and being broadcast by ABC-TV on September 11, 2016.  If you want to support her, you can vote for her at missamerica.votenow.tv   Just like elections in Chicago - you can vote early and often (once per day) and in this case, it is encouraged and legal.
Me and Laura Jones, Miss Kentucky 2016 at Stitch Niche in Lexington

After my visit with Stitch Niche was completed, I quickly grabbed a late lunch at Jimmy John's and drove about 30 minutes to the RAVEN RUN NATURE SANCTUARY where I had 90 minutes before the front gate was locked - enough time to squeeze in a six mile hike.
