Speaking of breaking the prime directive....

...Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein, was just today fired from his own company. As his cretinous lifestyle of abusing women has come to light. This guys' friends are are a Who's Who of Liberal Lefty loons. It's weird how everyone was silent about this little bit of news over the weekend... Apparently Saturday Night Live found nothing worthy of note to share with its audience. It appears that the lame late night 'comics' were afraid to touch this story since this story first came to light last Thursday. What weasels!

Harvey Weinstein officially fired from The Weinstein Company

Harvey Weinstein has officially been ousted from his own company.

In the wake of a blistering New York Times report that detailed nearly 30 years of his sexual misconduct, the embattled TV producer has been "terminated, effective immediately" from The Weinstein Company.

Weinstein Company representative Nicole Quenqua sent a statement Sunday to USA TODAY from The Weinstein Company's board of representatives: "In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company — Robert Weinstein, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar — have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately."

Weinstein began his "indefinite" leave of absence last Friday as The Weinstein Company board ran a "thorough" investigation into the sexual allegations made against its co-founder.

GOLDEN GLOBES

Last evening the Golden Globe Awards took place in California. Another chance for Hollywood types to poke fun at the President-elect and Americans in general. I did not watch it. My interest level in what actors and actresses who are paid to speak words written by others does not transfer to being interested in hearing what words these same men and women think about politics or anything else.

THE MATRIX

Yesterday I spent two hours on a Matrix (no, not in The Matrix, that is something completely different)

The elliptical that I spent two hours working out was a Matrix brand elliptical machine.

The machine at the Minneapolis YMCA could only be set for maximum of 60 minutes.   I completed two 60 minute workouts (plus five minute cooldown).  After the first workout, I had some numbers that I tried to improve on in the second hour.  Most of my 'improvement' came from actually turning it up a notch on my effort during the 'so-called' cooldown during the second hour.   My cooldown in the second session was anything but that - I was turning the pedals as fast as I could at level 25 in the second session.

TIME TRAVELLER

The stupid thing about me losing 90 pounds this past year and dropping from 309 lbs to 220 lbs is that I have 'been here before.'   As I wrote many times in the past, about eight years ago I tipped the scale at 300 lbs and dropped 80 lbs and briefly touched upon a weight of 220 lbs (for about five minutes) before I reversed course and zoomed back up and beyond where I had started.   This time I have no plans on repeating that stupidity.    

As I travel the countryside I often pass things that make me believe that I am a time traveller.   Last week on the way to Evanston, Indiana I was surprised to pass a bonafide DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATRE.   At first glance though, the marquee might have looked like it was from a long-closed theatre as the movie titles were from long ago:  TERMINATOR and JURASSIC WORLD.   Of course, I realized that this is a statement about HOLLYWOOD constantly revisiting movies that have been released in the past.  Nevertheless, this DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATRE is currently active.  I checked the internet to discover that there are only about 300+ DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATRES left in America these days.   

Another thing that I have passed in my approximately half million miles travelled in my automobile in the past 20+ years is an actual phone booth.  I think I have seen less than half dozen of these antiques.  Seeing an actual telephone booth is an extremely rare thing to see.   

Although it is said that history repeats itself...

I do not ever expect to see drive in movie theaters making a comeback.
I do not ever expect to see telephone booths on every other street corner
I do not ever expect to weigh 300+ lbs again.  (or anywhere near there)
