WHAT A GREAT ANNIVERSARY!

Today is Wednesday, November 8, 2017. One year ago, on Wednesday November 7, 2016 there was a political earthquake that struck the United States of America. It's name was Donald Trump. I voted for Trump, I had very low expectations that he was going to win. I even believe that he did not think that he was going to win. I know that his opponent definitely didn't think that he was going to win. But win he did. I think that he is doing a great job, although he is saddled with a completely useless Congress. The Democrats, many of which are such crybabies that they stayed home for Turmp's inauguration are unwilling to support anything proposed by Trump. And the feckless Republicans have not been much better. Those clowns in the Republican Party campaigned for nearly a decade how they were going to repeal and replace Obamacare. The Congress voted countless times to repeal when they were 'protected' by the fact that President Obama would never sign any repeal into law. Now that we have a President who clearly desires to repeal this monstrosity, the Republicans have forgotten their multi-year campaign promise with which they have raised millions and millions of dollars. I have contempt for the Republicans in Congress, but I have great admiration for the guts that President Trump has had. And please don't tell me that he can be a jerk sometimes, I already know that. Turns out he is a very flawed human being, but as President he has shown some real guts. You gotta admit, it must take guts just to go out in public with that rather unique hairstyle that he favors. Trump was elected one year ago. What a great anniversary!

If I am going to continue my daily hikes and/or walks, I am apparently going to have to get used to being out and about in the darkness. With the seasonal time change in affect since early Sunday morning, sunset in Chicago is currently around 4:30PM. I am going to have to consider getting up early in the morning before breakfast to catch some sunlight. That gets harder and harder as the mercury drops. At sunrise today, 6:32AM, Wednesday, November 8 in Chicago, the temperature was  32°F.  32°F is officially freezing. Had there been precipitation this morning, it could have been snow. That is cold.

ROLLING STONES: BLUE & LONESOME

Way back on October 6 of this past year, The Rolling Stones, announced that they would be releasing a 'new' album on December 2 entitled BLUE & LONESEOME. At that time, they released the cover art for their collection of new music shown below.

I am proposing that if they had been a bit more politically incorrect, but certainly politically accurate...They could have used the 2016 United States Presidential Election Results Map by County as their album cover as shown below.

BLUE & LONESOME

To live in loser blue county (Hillary Clinton) among this vast sea of winning red counties (Donald Trump) would easily make one blue & lonesome. I live in Chicago, which is part of Cook County, and politically speaking, I do often feel lonely. In the aftermath of the Presidential Election which was still less than two weeks ago... I am definitely not feeling blue.

here is the original October 6th press release announcing Blue & Lonesome

THE ROLLING STONES ANNOUNCE THEIR RETURN TO THE BLUES WITH NEW ALBUM ‘BLUE & LONESOME’ OUT ON DECEMBER 2
Five decades in the making and just three days to record
On 2nd December 2016The Rolling Stones will release Blue & Lonesome, their first studio album in over a decade. Recorded in just three days in London, England, ‘Blue & Lonesome’ takes the band back to their roots and the passion for blues music which has always been at the heart and soul of The Rolling Stones.
‘Blue & Lonesome’ is available in various formats and will be released on December 2nd by Polydor Records. It was produced by Don Was and The Glimmer Twins and is available for pre-order worldwide from today, October 6th, at 9am EST in the USA and 2pm in the UK (equivalent times worldwide), go to rollingstones.com/blueandlonesome.
The album was recorded over the course of just three days in December last year at British Grove Studios in West London, just a stone’s throw from Richmond and Eel Pie Island where the Stones started out as a young blues band playing pubs and clubs.
Their approach to the album was that it should be spontaneous and played live in the studio without overdubs. The band – Mick Jagger (vocals & harp), Keith Richards (guitar), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ronnie Wood (guitar) were joined by their long time touring sidemen Darryl Jones (bass), Chuck Leavell (keyboards) and Matt Clifford (keyboards) and, for two of the twelve tracks, by old friend Eric Clapton, who happened to be in the next studio making his own album.
‘Blue & Lonesome’ sees the Rolling Stones tipping their hats to their early days as a blues band when they played the music of Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor, Little Walter and Howlin’ Wolf – artists whose songs are featured on this album.
The tracks are – Just Your Fool, Commit A Crime, Blue and Lonesome, All Of Your Love, I Gotta Go, Everybody Knows About My Good Thing, Ride ‘Em On Down, Hate To See You Go, Hoo Doo Blues, Little Rain, Just Like I Treat You, I Can’t Quit You Baby.

PRESIDENT DONALD J TRUMP

Regular readers (if there are any) of this blog know that Donald Trump was near the very bottom of my choices during the Republican Primaries which were held ages ago. At least it seems that it was ages ago. Once Mr. Trump secured the nomination, he instantly and unambiguously became my first choice in the general election. In my view, leftists and leftism must be stopped. Hillary Clinton, who may be a liar, and criminal who belongs in jail, is guilty of something far worse - she is a leftist. Even if the Democrats had nominated an honest politician who did not belong in prison, that person would still be guilty of being a leftist. Leftism is destroying our country and the entire western world. For that reason, I have vigorously supported Donald Trump. And today, this morning, November 9th, 2016, I have hope that Trump can reverse the course of this once mighty nation. Sure he was a flawed candidate, and likely will continue to be a flawed leader. Who does not have flaws? I am behind my new president all the way. Congratulations, Mr Trump! And way more importantly... Congratulations America!
President Elect Donald Trump 3:02AM ET at Trump Headquarters in New York City

During the day, I received notification from fitbit that I had earned the GREAT WALL badge. Is it just me, or does anyone see the irony of earning the GREAT WALL badge on the same day that America elected a President who has promised to build a 'great wall?'

Before I settled down to watch the election returns, I snuck in a 10 mile hike (mostly in darkness) around Shipshewana, Indiana. It was my plan to walk along the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail, which I managed to hook up with for about one mile. Perhaps this paved trail was beautiful, I have no idea...it was dark.

SUPER TUESDAY

Today is 'Super Tuesday.'
I wish I could be excited.
I am seriously unhappy about what is going on in the Republican Party.
I believe that a true flim flam man is about to take charge in the race to the nomination.
Best-selling author, Ann Coulter supports Trump.
This is a presents a conundrum for me.
I mostly admire and respect Ann Coulter.
She is the author of !Adios America!
This is ostensibly the reason that she supports Trump - for his stance on immigration.
There is no way that Trump is going to deport 10 Million+ illegal immigrants.
Why is he saying that he will do this?
Even if he really wanted to do this - the courts would stop him in a nanosecond.
He knows it can not be done.
You know it can not be done.
Surely Ann Coulter knows it can not and will not be done.
Ann is right about one thing though...
If Mr. Donald Trump is the Republican nominee....
!Adios America!
.
TODAY, I MUST DEFER TO MR. BLUTO BLUTARSKY (ANIMAL HOUSE) FOR ADVICE....
