THE THREE FACES OF EVE...

...well, not exactly...

The Three Faces of Eve is a 1957 American CinemaScope film adaptation based on a book by psychiatrists Corbett H. Thigpen and Hervey M. Cleckley, who also helped write the screenplay. It was based on their case of Chris Costner Sizemore, also known as Eve White, a woman they suggested might suffer from dissociative identity disorder. Sizemore's identity was concealed in interviews and this film, and was not revealed to the public until 1975. (from wikipedia)

I don't (think) multiple personality disorder is my issue. There may be some that find my one personality distasteful (especially my liberal friends), but that is a completely different problem... Nevertheless, I am the owner of multiple 'faces'....

Perhaps I should have titled today's blog: THE FOUR FACES OF MARC. As a overweight, obese, fat slob that I was for way too long, I was very camera shy. Can you blame me? I do not have too many photos of myself from this major portion of my life. I used the MOLDIV application to create this four-photo collage showing 'THE FOUR FACES OF MARC'.

In the photo in the top left, You will see me as a much younger man. I have no idea what I might have weighed back then. Surely I was nowhere near the 309 pounds that I ultimately 'achieved' at the age of 57. The top left photo dates all the way back to 2002 when I was 45 years old. The photo on the bottom left is from 2004. On the bottom right photo we fast forward to 2014. That photo on the bottom right was taken when I was still six months away from making the decision to change the course of my life. The photo in the top right was taken just a few days ago while hiking on the Ice Age Trail in Janesville, Wisconsin. It is currently my favorite headshot photo of myself.  I am wearing my favorite 'Glenn Beck' baseball cap, and my smile looks genuine without looking too goofy. (At least that is my opinion) When I look at this collage of four faces, I honestly have difficulty recognizing myself. I am somewhat bewildered when others who have not seen me in a while DO recognize me, and I am NOT surprised when people I have not seen in a couple of years DON'T recognize me. That has actually happened quite often in the past couple of years. I once had a customer of mine ask my brother at a tradeshow why I wasn't there. I was sitting right next to him at the time.

current weight 228.2 lbs.

I was looking forward to weighing myself on Saturday, and although I was underwhelmed by the fact that my weight dropped by a further 0.8 pounds, once again, I must remember that the trend is going in the right direction. Again, I remind myself that this is not a sprint to some magical weight, rather an endless marathon to get to a healthier, slimmer me.

I continue to make slow and steady progress with my weight after recently topping out at 242 lbs after my hernia surgery in the spring. The weekly weight losses have not been dramatic, but the trend is my friend.
