HAS THERE EVER BEEN A POLITICIAN LIKE THIS?

Has there ever been a politician like this? Our President is not 'protected' by the press like the previous president was. I believe the 44th president went to sleep each night, in uncontrollable fits of evil laughter as he thought about all that he got away with each day as the press gave him a pass on... everything. Our current president, President Donald Trump, gets questioned on... everything. If he says that today is Saturday, The New York Times is capable of running an editorial denying it. Just look at this tweet that Trump tweeted late yesterday morning. He is not scared of these little dimwit lefties who are trying their best to deny him the respect and honor that his office requires.

Let me get this straight... Just because Attorney General Jeff Sessions had a conversation with the Russian Ambassador, this somehow 'proves' that they were in cahoots to control the election results in the United States?  OK, democrats... here's another case for you.... Here is photographic proof of a meeting between James Bond and Auric Goldfinger.  Does this also prove that James Bond was conspiring with Auric Goldfinger to sabotage the gold in Fort Knox? According to your 'logic'  - I guess it does. Now I know that James Bond and Auric Goldfinger were fictional characters from the imagination of Ian Fleming, but since you subscribe to so much fake news, you might as well fight movie plotlines. Reality does not seem to be your forté.

The fact that I spent being as active as a book sitting on a bookshelf, as I was suffering from flu-like symptoms for a couple of days while on the road, probably did not help me this week. Even when I am not feeling well, my appetite almost never suffers.  My weight this morning was 245.6 lbs.

THE TIME FOR SMALL THINKING IS OVER

in case you missed the speech by the President last night.... Here are his concluding remarks. It appears that the speech received near universal praise from Trump's supporters and begrudgingly from his detractors...
The time for small thinking is over.  The time for trivial fights is behind us.
We just need the courage to share the dreams that fill our hearts.
The bravery to express the hopes that stir our souls.
And the confidence to turn those hopes and dreams to action.
From now on, America will be empowered by our aspirations, not burdened by our fears –-
inspired by the future, not bound by the failures of the past –-
and guided by our vision, not blinded by our doubts.
I am asking all citizens to embrace this Renewal of the American Spirit.  I am asking all members of Congress to join me in dreaming big, and bold and daring things for our country.  And I am asking everyone watching tonight to seize this moment and --
     Believe in yourselves.
     Believe in your future.
And believe, once more, in America.
Thank you, God bless you, and God Bless these United States.

STATE OF THE UNION

Today is Tuesday, February 28. President Trump will be giving a speech to a joint session of Congress. Although, it is not officially a 'State of the Union' Address, for all practical purposes that is exactly what it is - a State of the Union address.  I wonder if the 'snowflake' democrats will boycott this spectacle tonight, just as they boycotted the inauguration. I know one thing, it is simply amazing that Donald Trump is the President of the United States. I ain't even saying that it is all good - I am saying that it is amazing. I am, however, saying that it is mostly good. And just so I can be unambiguous, it's a many times better than the alternative that we dodged last November.

WOW!

Wow! I have learned to expect politicians to make great promises and fail to even remotely keep them. During the recent presidential campaign, I remember saying to people that if Trump only does half the things that he has promised, I would be happy. Yesterday he kept a solemn promise that he made. He promised to select a Supreme Court Justice in the mold of Antonin Scalia. He did precisely that. I am a true believer now. Donald Trump evidently ran for President in order to do the things that he said he would do. This is amazing. This is great. I wonder what all those so-called conservative, republican 'Never-Trumpers' are saying now. What more could we conservatives ask of our new president? The lefty libs are going crazy. The crazier they get, the more secure am I that this was a sterling choice. The New York Times wasted no time editorializing that this was a poor choice. Way to go New York Times, you are so predictable. When I heard Gorsuch speak last evening during the announcement, I was wildly  impressed. Wow!

POTATO DIET

Each day, I get a list of articles, blogs, and/or press releases from google referring to diet and weight loss.  Yesterday, I received an article with this headline:

An Australian Man Lost 53 Pounds In 78 Days By Eating Nothing But Potatoes

.
I certainly believe that this is possible.  In fact, I believe you an lose weight if you eat nothing but ice cream cones every day.  Whatever it is that you are eating, if you are interested in losing weight, you must still observe the laws of physics: calories in must be less than calories out. If you fulfill that requirement, you will lose weight.  The problem with many of these somewhat ridiculous diets is that they teach you nothing. They do not teach you how to live and eat with other human beings in a true social settings. What does one do if one is invited to a friends house and a potato is not on the menu? I sympathize with this Australian man as he and I share a common problem - we have difficulty limiting our food intake. I am just fairly certain that trying to limit oneself to one food item is not the answer. On the other hand, spending 3+ hours per day on an elliptical machine is also not the answer. Just because one knows what the answer is (or is not) does not necessarily mean that a person can follow a sound course of action. I bet that there are plenty of overweight and obese people out there that are well aware that their personal lifestyles are not the answer.

Perhaps, I should consider adding more potatoes into my diet....They appear to be a fairly healthy food.

.
and finally....a trip in the 'wayback' machine....

Remember the old days....When the biggest knock against the vice president was that he couldn't spell... Compare that with the liar we have today... Here are a few of my 'favorite' lies:
(as reported by Gateway Pundit)

1.) If you like your insurance plan, you can keep your insurance plan.
2.) With Obamacare we will reduce your insurance premiums by $2,500, per family per year
3.) I cannot pass amnesty through executive action… I am not a dictator
4.) Not one dime of Obamacare will go for abortions
5.) It was not my decision to pull all the troops from Iraq

Big deal, our current president can spell.  But he cannot tell the truth.
He also ain't too big on pronunciation.... do a youtube search for the way he pronounces corpsman.  It will make you cringe. And if it does not make you cringe, you just might be a certified kool-aid drinking, non-thinking, don't care that ship is sinking, liberal. (or worse)

300 DAYS

Last night's State of the Union Address by President Obama was billed as his last.  Let us all hope that that is true. Glenn Beck, half-jokingly predicted that our President might be unwilling to give up the chance for one more crack at it prior to the inauguration of our next president next year. Today, is January 13, 2016. There are precisely 300 days until America selects its next leader on election day in November. This is going to be a very active political year. As of this writing, the buzz is that Hillary Clinton might be be indicted for crimes related to her illegal email and server while Secretary of State.  There is also the 'coincidence' of favorable government decisions being granted to those who gave generous amounts of money to the Clinton Foundation. If she is indicted, will she continue to run? If she if forced to withdraw, who will fill the void? Will Donald Trump actually get the votes needed for the nomination? Has his support been exaggerated in the press, or perhaps understated?  There will be lots of intrigue in the next 300 days.  It will not be boring.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Young people today may not realize that Presidents are elected to actually be leaders.  This photo from 1983 serves as a reminder what a real President would look like.  This man did not divide America as our current one has.
