FORT HARRISON STATE PARK

I was not quite sure how I was going to feel on Monday morning after my 26.2 mile urban hike on Sunday. There was not time to assess by condition. I was up and out the door by 5:30AM in order to arrive in Indianapolis for a 10AM appointment. Although the trip is just about 3 hours, I 'lose' an hour crossing  into the Eastern Time Zone. There was another appointment in the afternoon. Afterwards I checked into my hotel and laced up the hiking boots. This time I realized that I was 'only' 3 miles away from Fort Harrison State Park. Of course, I walked there. Once there I walked on the Harrison Trace Trail, exited the park and returned to my hotel. This roundtrip hike was eleven miles. I guess there were no particular deleterious effects from the marathon hike on Sunday.

Fort Harrison, sometimes called Fort Ben, is an Indiana state park located inLawrence, IndianaUnited States, and occupies part of the former site of Fort Benjamin Harrison. The park features a former Citizen's Military Training Camp,Civilian Conservation Corps camp, and World War II prisoner of war camp. There are also picnicking and walking/jogging trails..
I saw very little of the park during my hike on the "Harrison Trace Trail"
