LIQUID DIET

Late Friday afternoon, I had gum surgery which I had scheduled a couple of months back.  The surgery was a frenectomy which was deemed necessary to combat my increasingly receding gum lines on the lower front teeth.  The surgery was successful. As a result, I will be restricted to a liquid diet for three days. I was told to avoid all hot foods, as the heat can adversely affect the healing process.  No coffee for a week!  After three days, I can graduate to soft foods.  I think this would include soup and/or coffee, as long as I allowed it to cool down to near room temperature. It will allow oatmeal as long as I allow it to cool down. Right now the stitches are so new, so tight in the bottom of my lip that any facial expression brings great discomfort... I really need to avoid smiling or frowning.  One thing I checked, was that there was no reason why I could not continue my exercise routine - so of course, I did not and I will not.

In the Court of the Crimson King was the debut album from King Crimson released on 10 October 1969. The album is known for some amazing music and some memorable artwork by Barry Goober. Barry Godber (1946-1970) died in February 1970 from a heart attack shortly after this album was released. It was his only album cover and the original painting is now owned by Robert Fripp (King Crimson). This album cover reminded me about how I must have looked in the dentists chair for two hours while my gums were being ripped apart and sewn back together. It definitely depicts how I felt.

I don't know what I looked like sitting in the dentist's chair for two hours late yesterday afternoon, but this artwork perfectly depicts how I felt.

This illustrates the lower frenum under the middle teeth that apparently needed some adjustment to reduce the problem of the receding gum lines that I have.  Three days of liquid diet... I admit I am not looking forward to following this dietary restriction.

When I went up to the fitness room the elliptical machine was being used....So before I had the chance to log my normal 92 minute elliptical workout, I spent 30 minutes on the treadmill, walking at a 4.5 mph pace and logged 285 calories burned.
