This Week in Hate tracks hate crimes and harassment around the country since the election of Donald Trump. The Southern Poverty Law Center and other groups are keeping detailed counts of harassment and abuse. We will regularly present a selection of incidents to show the scope of the problem.
Among the 'incidents' breathlessly reported by the geniuses at The New York Times was this:
• Last Friday, a student at Nassau Community College on Long Island notified security of swastikas and the words “Germany” and “Heil Hitler” drawn in a men’s restroom. A security guard had found separate swastikas in a stairwell and on a wall last Wednesday, and three other incidents of anti-Semitic graffiti were reported in October.
I am Jewish. I do find a swastika drawn anywhere, to be very disgusting and hateful. In a country of over 300 million people if this is one of the top 5 incidents of 'hate' to have been fired up by the election of Donald Trump to the presidency, then we are all probably 'OK.' I hate to break this news to The New York Times, but I have seen hateful swastikas in bathroom stalls written by hateful ignoramuses all over the country for all my life. This is not new. This is not news. If one thinks that they can ascribe such an action to the election of Donald Trump, I think that I must conclude that one is a hysterical, hateful moron. There, I said it, that's right! (<---borrowing this phrase from 'The Great One," Mark Levin)
Here is my version of 'This Week in Hate'
The left hates Donald Trump.
The New York Times hates Donald Trump.
The left hates conservatives.
The New York Times hates conservatives.
The left hates most of the residents of the United States of America ('flyover country')
The New York Times hates most of the residents of the United States of America.
The left hates all people that disagree with their twisted 'logic' on any lefty issue.
The New York Times hates all people that disagree with their twisted 'logic.'
You might wonder about me... Do you think that I 'hate' The New York Times?
That is a strong word, hate....
Let's just say that I find The New York Times to be DEPLORABLE.
(that was supposed to be an ironic statement. Did you get the irony? No, let me help you out...)
de·plor·a·ble
dəˈplôrəb(ə)l/
adjective
- deserving strong condemnation.
"the deplorable conditions in which most prisoners are held"synonyms:
- shockingly bad in quality.
"her spelling was deplorable"synonyms:
ME THINKS THAT WHEN HILLARY CLINTON CALLED HALF OF TRUMP SUPPORTERS DEPLORABLE, THAT THAT WAS 'HATE.' DID THE NEW YORK TIMES REPORT THIS AS HATEFUL? That is a rhetorical question. You are not expected to actually answer that question.
A rhetorical question is a question that you ask without expecting an answer. The question might be one that does not have an answer. It might also be one that has an obvious answer but you have asked the question to make a point, to persuade or for literary effect.
