I have been thinking about something that 'dogged' President Obama during his Presidency. That is the stupid and misguided never-ending talk about his birth certificate. It was good for a few jokes, and I enjoyed making them too. I never really believed that Obama was not eligible for the Presidency, and furthermore, once he was elected, it was a bit late to do anything about it anyway. The people that spent time, money and effort promulgating this idea were very misguided. Uh, yeah, I see the irony here that the 'spokesperson' for this effort was a man by the name of Donald J. Trump. This was not Trump's finest hour. Fast forward 8 years, and now there is something that is 'dogging' President Trump during his Presidency. That is the stupid and misguided never-ending talk about Russian influence in his recent election. It is good for a few jokes, although, I admit I am personally very tired of them by now. And since, investigations that have been carried out by the finest law enforcement agencies in the world have turned up absolutely nothing to support these claims, it just might be time to give it a rest. We know that the Democrats will not do this because they know so well just how stupid and gullible their base is. They are not really stupid, but they are willing to suspend disbelief and continue to buy into this nonsense, just like movie goers suspend disbelief and get lost in a movie on the big screen. For the Democrats this 'movie' will never end. Just as the 'birthers' failed to convince others and bring anyone over to their side, the 'Russian Truthers' will fail to convince others and bring anyone over to their side too. Is this what is meant by the phrase "History repeats itself?"
