Back in the old days before it was considered racist to be a fan of the NFL's Washington Redskins, or for that matter to simply write the name, Washington Redskins or perhaps simply utter that name, Washington Redskins - there used to be something called 'Indian Summer.' I truly wonder if the term 'Indian Summer' is still used today by the educated 'enlightened' elites of America. I doubt it.
I refer to wikipedia for a definition:
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Indian summer is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs inautumn in theNorthern Hemisphere. The US National Weather Servicedefines this as weather conditions that are sunny and clear with above normal temperatures, occurring late-September to mid-November.
Yesterday, was certainly an Indian Summer day in Chicago. The temperature was 70+ degrees. Naturally this called for a 13 mile walk before my first appointment of the week.
Another successful 13.1 mile hike where I did not retrace my steps. |
