JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH

For the past few weeks (and months) as I let my weight management slip away and as I failed to keep up with the daily routine of hiking and/or walking, there were days when I did not even carry around my fitbit at all. My step count has been anemic, and there were some days when it registered zero from non-use.  During this lackadaisical phase of my journey in and out of fitness, I missed noticing an 'important' milestone that  I reached on July 3rd. My lifetime mileage count (since September 2015) surpassed 7,900 miles. This would be the equivalent of taking a Jules Verne type journey to the center of the Earth and continuing on until one reached the other side. This accomplishment surely enshrines me in a dubious club of high mileage fitbitters. At the present time, I am unaware of any additional lifetime mileage badges that can be earned. They should come up with another badge for someone who has walked from the North Pole to the South Pole. (12,416 miles)  Here is my plan. I will make the effort to do this, and if I do....I will award myself a special badge. I have about nearly 5000 more miles to 'walk' until I need to worry about this.
