HOUSTON

Arrived in Houston on Friday for International Quilt Market. After meeting with vendors during the afternoon, there was still time to squeeze in a 6.5 mile hike around the Buffalo Bayou before dinner. This was of the places where the floodwaters overcame the banks and flowed over into the streets and highways. It was clear that much damage was done, but two months later, it was also clear how much this has already been cleaned up. One thing, one might expect in Texas is patriotism. I enjoyed discovering this mural along my trail.

SATURDAY MORNING...TIME FOR A WEIGHT CHECK

I am currently in Houston. In the past, I have been crazy enough to bring by bathroom scale with me for a weigh in on a Saturday when I am away from home. This time, I was not quite that nuts. I did weigh myself yesterday morning, before I left my home at 3:50AM to get on the Chicago Subway. So, I will call that weight yesterday, my weight today. That weight is:

236.8 lbs
...another 1.2 lbs were shed in the past week.  In the last two months, I have 'erased' 26.5 lbs from my previous (more) bloated frame. I should not be so hard on myself. I no longer feel bloated at all. I ain't thin, but I am thinner.
