DAY 1

President Trump has been in office for one day, and the country survived Day 1. Remember, I am a supporter, but I must confess that nearly anything is possible with this guy in office. Apparently the biggest concern of Trump yesterday was worrying too much about the size of the crowds reported by the dishonest media. If Trump is going to go bonkers about every lie told about the media, he is going to be busy indeed. The only time that the media report a story accurately is when there is some kind of typo in the story that accidentally makes a story true.

People stand on the National Mall to listen to the 58th Presidential Inauguration for

President Donald Trump at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, Friday, January 20

Yesterday, was my personal Day 1 as I have (finally) decided to get serious (again) about managing my caloric intake. Yesterday I did not eat any chocolate (or conveniently forget to log chocolate that I did eat) and as a result I broke a cycle of overeating that I have been engaged in for far too long.  A 'streak' of one day isn't much, but even Joe DiMaggio had to get that first hit before he continued his unbreakable hitting streak for 55 additional games.

I really can't get to obsessed with how big Trump's crowds were for his inauguration. I am  simply grateful that  the crowds for Trump's inauguration were larger than the crowds for Hillary Clinton's inauguration.

I have been thinking about all the morons marching and protesting carrying signs claiming that Trump was not their president. As you can see by the above map, President Donald J Trump is actually president of the entire population of all 50 states, so I wonder where all these morons live

INAUGURATION DAY TODAY

Our long national nightmare ends within a few short hours at high noon today in Washington, D.C when the 45th President of the United States in sworn in as President. His supporters, like me, are thrilled. His detractors are already infected with TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and since this is just another symptom of leftism, they are likely incurable.  Although the forecast in Washington, D.C. today predicts cloudy skies and rain, I see sunny days ahead for the United States of America. It is time to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

HOPE AND CHANGE

Eight years ago, our current president (for one day more) ran on the 'platform' of HOPE and CHANGE. The master of platitudes created something called Hope and Change. I never really had any idea what this was supposed to mean to an American lucky enough to be living in the greatest country on Earth. Eight years later, I think I understand. NOW AFTER EIGHT YEARS, I BELIEVE IN HOPE AND CHANGE. I fervently hope that President Trump can change the direction of America. I hope he can steer us away from the death-spiral piloted by the current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. One day to go. In essence, I have been waiting for this day since that ancient election in November of 2008 when America elected their true leftist president. America still stands, but she has been greatly eviscerated. The last eight years have not been good for us, and they have not been so great for the world either. Trump is surely imperfect, everyone is. Still, I have great hope that he can change our direction.

WINNING AND WHINING

The long national nightmare (for about half the country) is about to come to a conclusion, and new long national nightmare (for the other half of the country) is about to commence.  I am from the first group of people.

We will be winning, others will be whining.

We have one week to go. Inauguration Day is 7 days away. It cannot come soon enough.

Submitted for your approval.  It's 2019. Trump is President, and liberals are still whining about it.

I had two appointments in Cincinnati before heading home back to Chicago. Still I managed to squeeze in one hour on the elliptical machine prior to breakfast. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing.

PRESIDENTIAL FAREWELL SPEECH

I have waited 8 years for tonight. If I were to be slightly more accurate, I have waited 8 years for a week from Friday. One week from Friday, America will have a President who has actually accomplished something a bit more complex than being a community agitator. Our current president took his community agitation skills and masterfully spread his influence and has agitated an entire country. The thing, the sure thing, the one thing that so many people felt surely would improve with his presidency was relationships among the races. This was probably the president's major negative achievement as race relations are arguably at a low point not seen for generations. Farewell, Mr. President.

The Unaffordable Care Act would be a good thing to erase as quickly as possible.

It's been a real challenge to get in a workout recently. My 'workouts' can be nothing more complicated than an urban hike around my hometown. I am sure that my hiking hobby was much more fulfilling when I was actually hiking an actual trail in a city, in a state or national park. Cold weather, and reduced hours of sunlight have conspired against me. Although I was getting prepared to take some kind of walk in the Cincinnati area yesterday - I was happy and relieved to discover that my hotel had an elliptical machine. I particularly appreciated this as the elliptical machine at home is currently out of order. Why is it always me who is using my home elliptical machine in the community fitness room when the hand levers chose to break? It cannot be that I am so strong. As I am not.
